Devlog #4: The Ace and Queen


Shorter entry this time I think, not too much to discuss. Went over the descriptions for the Ace and the Queen, as well as working on the setup of what leads to the actual events that will be in gameplay. I had a bit of trouble expanding on the last two characters compared to the first two, and I'm unsure whether it's due to a lack of inspiration or a bit of tiredness/fatigue impeding me. Regardless, I feel that I have enough information now to begin Phase 2 and start actually assembling the game in-engine.

For the start of Phase 2, I plan to:

  • Sketch out layouts for all 4 of the rooms, along with item placements
  • Search for assets on the Unity store, and determine what (if any) assets I can pull from there for free. Anything else not readily available for me to use will likely need to be created.

So yeah. We're getting into the real game development now. No telling how well I'll be able to keep to my timeline now, but there's only one way to find out. I'll be traveling back to the east coast tomorrow, so hopefully I'll still be able to find time to finish these things. I'll let you know how it goes.
