Devlog #9: Big Strides


Wow. Was honestly not sure how much I could get done today, especially with all the running around and other work I had to get done, but I somehow managed it. I've created the first item, along with a basic Item UI and pause menu. I have multiple canvases at the moment, which I believe I can condense down into one, but everything is in a working state. I've also got a short video to show my current progress (and also how shitty the room looks right now).

So now that the item UI exists in this basic form, my next goals are to:

  • Add the remaining 12 items for this room. 
  • Implement item progression (after item used/card counted, it disappears and the next one appears)
  • Create inventory where all collected cards can be viewed (will open same item UI as world interaction but then let you go back to inventory)

Once again, the last item on the list is what I expect to be the hardest. If I can just get that in place though, I believe I'll have enough in place to build out the rest of the rooms. I'm pretty excited, so we'll see how far I can get tomorrow.
