Devlog #12: Door Deck Done
So today was a particularly busy day, as much of it was spent transferring files and setting up internet on my new desktop. It feels much better to develop on here though, so I'm glad I took the time to do it. Despite this, I did manage to hit both the goals I set out for yesterday: Interaction with the pause and inventory menu has been addressed, and I figured out a way to implement the sequence puzzle to escape the room and move to the next. When you approach the door and interact with it, it prompts you to "deal a hand" in the correct sequence of cards. If you get it right, it will (eventually) move to a quick scene transition before loading you into the next room, though currently it just sends a Debug message letting me know the sequence was entered correctly. If you make a mistake, it kicks you off and resets everything, the implication being that you need to recheck the cards in your deck. So the next step here is to handle the transition into the next room. For tomorrow, I'm going to:
- Transition the player to the next scene when they input a successful sequence.
- Setup the inventory so that they can view cards from past rooms
If time allows it, I'll even start working on constructing the second room. It'll probably be similarly blocky like the first room, but I can modify architecture later. Here's hoping for minimal roadblocks this time.

It technically counts as a story, I think.
